My dear Mr Ickes,

Mrs Bowen is still so seriously ill that no matter can be brought before her. Her children are all here & are so opposed to the Co. Candidacy as are the doctors, that I dare not bring it up again. I am sorry to seem so obstinate but it is the only way.

I have written to Mr Perkins that I have made you my proxy, you are very good about it [page 2]

With cordial greetings to Mrs Ickes, I am

Faithfully yours

Jane Addams.
