I am awfully sorry to decline anything the Kansas Progressives ask me to do, but it will be impossible for me to come to Kansas in February.
You have [a] splendid array of speakers, haven't you, even for a rally of three states.
If you have an opportunity will you please tell Governor Stubbs of my regret at not being able to come. After going over my engagements very carefully I find it necessary to decline.
