December 18, 1912.

The Hon. William Kent
House of Representatives
Washington, D.C.

My dear Mr. Kent:-

I had no opportunity to formally present your letter to the National Committee but I talked it over with a number of people, including Colonel Roosevelt himself. It seems to me that the spirit is one of [cooperation] in all Progressive measures, although there is no doubt that there is a determination not be "swallowed" by the Republican party.

Hoping very much that I may see you soon, and with cordial greetings of the season to Mrs. Kent and yourself, I am

Sincerely yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
