Jane Addams to Grace Abbott, October 16, 1914

THE BROWN PALACE HOTEL
DENVER

My dear Miss Abbott

I promised the Nebraska suffragists that I would urge you to give a week's speaking to the State before election. The Lincoln women --

Mrs. W. E. [Barkley]
1817 E. St.

is the one in charge, are [page 2] quite concerned about the German counties, and think that you would be the person to help.

I am [enclosing] a card which they are using -- it might be a good idea for registration work. The women are working splendidly -- quite ahead of So. Dakota where I have just been. [page 3]

I very much enjoyed meeting your father and mother and feel quite peevish that I couldn't get off with them at Grand Island.

With greetings to your family and the rest of H. H.

Affectionately yours

Jane Addams
