My Dear Miss [Addams]:

I am glad to see the number of women increased on the Board of Education and you among the number. I believe the membership might very properly be divided between men [page 2] and women.

I do not believe the teachers any more than the politicians should be permitted to dictate the policy of the Board. My experiences taught me that the Superintendents recommendations should at least prima facie be accepted as [page 3] correct.

With my best wishes for an agreeable time on the Board, I believe you will accomplish much good. I am
