Dec. 4, 1906.
Your letter in regard to our agreement for the "Newer Ideals of Peace" has been received. I find, upon reference to the terms of the agreement, that the amount in advanced is two hundred dollars, but I should prefer to leave it in your hands until the book is actually published and any expense I may have incurred in making changes in the proof, shall have been settled. The last proof has been corrected and returned. The index, which is the only remaining piece of work goes on today. Am I rash in hoping that it will be possible to issue the book before Christmas?
