Jane Addams to Eleanor Banning Macfarland, June 18, 1928

HULL-HOUSE
800 SOUTH HALSTED STREET
CHICAGO

June 18, 1928.

My dear Mrs. Macfarland,

I have the greatest possible admiration for Miss Van Waters and think she would most admirably fill such a position as you suggest. I would be sorry to have her leave the work she is now engaged in, however, as it much more difficult to find people to do things than it is to find people to teach.* However the loss would not be on the side of the students.

Thanking you for your kind letter and assuring you of my admiration for the type of ↑thinking and↓ writing Miss Van Waters has been doing, I am

Faithfully yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
