My dear Miss Addams, --
May I introduce who I am? Just about three years ago, when you visited us in Japan, I met you and Miss Smith between Osaka and Tokyo on the train. My name is Michi Kawai, General Secretary of Y.W.C.A. in Japan and a member of the Peace Society there. I happened to come to Geneva to know something about the League, and naturally I heard at once of your being here, and now Dr. Nitobé of the League has invited me to the luncheon at the International Club today to hear your address. Last night I met Miss Jodai who told me a great deal about your work. Your [page 2] unceasing devotion for the peace and welfare of mankind has been the inspiration of every one of us. May you be kept strong and victorious wherever you may be.
If you could spare even a few minutes to see me during your story in Geneva, I should consider it a great privilege. But you are exceedingly busy and we are apt to overtask you therefore, please do not consider that you are obliged to see me. When I go back to America some time in November, perhaps I shall be allowed to see you there.
(Miss) Michi Kawai
