November 30, 1926.

My dear Miss Addams:

I was so glad to get your letter this morning and the clipping from the "World" which I had not seen. Isn't it splendid? This is a very good editorial from a Wisconsin paper which I shall send you also. I believe that the situation here will work out satisfactorily and that it will not come to a legal clash.

I am sending you a clipping from the Washington Post of yesterday about the Gas Protocol. It is extremely interesting, I think.

I should say that John Thomas Taylor is perhaps as active as anybody else unless it is MacNider. Of course, they are both Legion men. Then there is General Edwards and General Fries. I shall send you some clippings about the latter's latest activities.

I have learned this morning that you and Miss Balch have been sent guest tickets for the Conference on the Cause and Cure of War. There is a possibility, I suppose, that Miss Balch will come. I am writing her today to ask. I am wondering if you are planning to come to it? I understand that you have the privilege of discussion though without a vote if a guest. If you are unable to come, would you be willing to ask Mrs. Catt if I could have the ticket? Mrs. Hull is in the hospital and will not be able to be here and I understand that Mrs. Kind and various other members of the Board will be present in the capacity of delegates. I have no way of getting in. Of course, I could imagine nothing more wonderful than if you could be here.

Devotedly yours,

D. D. [initialed]
Dorothy Detzer
Executive Secretary.
