My dear Miss Addams:

I am moved to express to you my love and loyalty and my belief that you are the greatest woman of your generation, whose conceptions of what is just and right in human relations, from personal to international, will shine when the history of this time is all that the world has to judge us by.

I have not met you in years, but there is scarcely one day in which I do not think of you. Not everything you have said or written seems to me true, but if I were a greater women, perhaps it would. But you seem to me true, and for this I love and profoundly revere you.

Sincerely yours,

Caroline Bartlett Crane
