Jane Addams to Henry Goddard Leach, January 16, 1928

HULL-HOUSE
800 SOUTH HALSTED STREET
CHICAGO

January 16, 1928.

My dear Mr. Leach,

I shall, of course, be glad to have the account closed. We are apparently unable to add thereunto. It has always seemed to me that the Folk High School method would be especially well fitted to young people of foreign birth. We have a country club connected with Hull-House and use it a great deal for week-end parties which we find unexpectedly rewarding. I have always wished we might push it further, and of course, the same thing would even be more evident in the mountain districts of the South.

I think our whole movement in adult education in America is still in its very beginnings ↑& stupid at that!↓

Faithfully yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
