HULL-HOUSE
800 SOUTH HALSTED STREET
CHICAGO
March 23, 1911.
Dear Mrs. Stewart: --
I am awfully sorry to decline what you ask me to do, but I am afraid I cannot accept the position on the Finance Committee. I will be glad to help raise funds at any special moment however. We are constantly needing money at Hull-House, and I find it very awkward to be on Finance Committees and go to the same people to whom I must constantly appeal. The trustees share my feeling in regard to this so I shall have to ask you to be excused, but I know you will free to call upon me whenever I can serve you.
Sincerely yours,
Jane Addams [signed]
Mrs. Ella S. Stewart,
Chicago
