Mary Watson Green to Jeannette Flitcraft Stetson, September 7, 1927

CARNEGIE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
SCHENLEY PARK PITTSBURGH

September 7, 1927.

My dear Miss Stetson:

Yesterday I received a letter from Miss Marian Swigart of Clinton, Illinois, asking if I would send a note of recommendation to you for her. Miss Swigart was a student at Rockford College several years ago. At that time I was Dean of Women at Rockford College and was very much interested in Miss Swigart. She is a young woman who has had many struggles and has made some definite fights to overcome them but has faced situations squarely. If you have a place at Hull House I am sure she will do her part to make a contribution to the life there and Hull House will do much for her. I have not seen her for three years but her letter indicates that she is growing in the right direction.

Sincerely,

Mary Watson Green [signed]
