My dear Mrs Blaine --

As you see by the [enclosed] material we are trying to pay off Miss Boyd's debts before the school goes to the [Northwestern] University. You were so generous in helping the other part of the School of Civics and Philanthropy pay its debts before it went to the University of Chicago, that I am venturing to ask your special help for this half.
