My dear Miss Addams:

I should like to have the opportunity of staying at Hull House during the month of September, this year, if you have a vacancy at that time. I am a graduate of the Social Service Administration School of the University of Chicago and at present am employed by the Jewish Social Service Bureau as ↑, where I have been doing↓ case work ↑for the past two years approximately.↓ My district is not far from Hull House. I have in the past been interested in the Irene Kaufmann Settlement of Pittsburgh, Pa., where I worked as a volunteer for a short time.

As I shall have to look for a room elsewhere should you not be able to accommodate me, I would appreciate being notified of your decision at your earliest convenience. I find myself only temporarily in the predicament of having no place to stay, and would like to use this period in order to acquaint myself better with Hull House. Some two years ago I stayed at Hull House for about a week.

Sincerely yours,

Pauline Miller [signed]
