HEARST NEWSPAPERS
June 3, 1927.
Dear Mr. Ranck:
The American Crime Study Commission adopted a resolution requesting the publication of the speeches made by the able judges on the crime situation. They will be published, serially, in full in Mr. Hearst's papers in fifteen cities from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and afterwards in pamphlet form, after the speeches have been revised by the authors.
I enclose the stenographic report of Miss Jane Addams' speech and ask you to have it delivered to her for her revision. It was one of the most illuminating speeches delivered there. All the members of the commission were very grateful to Miss Addams for giving her views so impressively.
Will you please express again to her our grateful appreciation.
Sincerely yours,
P.S. I enclose with the manuscript an addressed, stamped envelope, in which it will be convenient for Miss Addams to re-enclose her speech to me when she has had time to revise it. I hope she will do us this additional favor.
