Jane [Addams],

Dear Friend,

I should be pleased to know of you have any opening for a young man desiring social work.

My College training has been at Penn College, Oskaloosa, Ia. and my post graduate work has been at Haverford College and the Woolman School both in the East together with work I am taking here at the University of Southern California. I have taught school three years but prefer personal or sympathetic contact with those who should have a fuller expression of life. [page 2]

I am twenty eight years of age and have worked a good bit with boys but feel as much [competent] in dealing with parents or adults.

My wife, if I am married by that time, would be [competent] in nursing being a graduate nurse with special training in the Maternal work or department.

Would be pleased to know if you have any thing to offer.

Sincerely thine

Selmer Rosedale
