Brussels, March 21st, 1927.

Dear Miss Addams,

As M. Doty had to ask for a few days to leave in order to see Mr. Baldwin before he leaves England she asked me to take charge instead of her and finish up last day's work and what had to be done immediately after. So I came to Brussels with Miss Marshall and Mme. Duchêne to help in sending off the most urgent matter to sections and Executive Members.

We had to work hard in order to be able to finish up [today]. Miss Marshall left this noon and as my train does not leave before 6 o'clock, she charged me to tell you instead of her that she very much hopes you will sign the letter to the Chinese women which will reach you through Dr. Jacobs and that it will ↑be↓ possible for the U.S. Section to delegate Miss Balch to China and that she will be ready to go. Should this not be possible, it would be important to find somebody who could complete the European delegate: Mme. Drevet.

Miss Marshall also hopes that you will agree with what we have done at the meeting. The letter to Paul-Boncour may seem too strong to you, but it is already softened down from what the French Section had drafted (and if I may say: what he deserved).

The appointment of Mary Sheepshanks has been almost unanimous. I hope her health will let her do good work.

Please excuse if this letter is very stupid; we have had very little sleep since the 12th inst. and I am a lazy person.

With all good wishes and kindest regards

yours devotedly

Vilma Glücklich
