WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM

Dear Emily Balch --

Your letter to Alice Hamilton reached her just as she was starting for Egypt and she asked me to reply.

I can't tell you how much I want you to come [although] I hoped that you would stay for a month or six weeks and that we could do some writing as well as other things. The J. A. dinner is the 20th (not the 26th) do come as early as you can before then and stay as long as you can afterward. Mary Smith and I are planning to go South about the 20" of Feby. [page 2]

Your letter telling me that you were not quite all right as to health [has] just come. Perhaps you could profit by the rest and change, do try it.

It seems to me the very nicest thing that could happen to me!

Always devotedly yours

Jane Addams

P.S. I am staying nights with Mary Smith, but go over to H.H. every day for office hours [etc]. You would have a room in both places.
