Dear Miss Addams:

We had particularly in mind professors giving courses when we prepared the attached circular letter to the members of the American Sociological Society. I am sending it along to you, however, partly because it occurs to me that you might be interested to see what we are saying to them, and much more because it gives me a chance to send you a few personal words to say how thrilled I was by the fine outpouring of affection and esteem which characterized the dinner to you in Chicago the other day. A host of us were very much there in spirit, even though we could not be on hand in person. Father sent me the Daily News account of the occasion which I read with much interest.

Very sincerely yours,

Graham Romeyn Taylor. [signed]
