Regarding the Pan-Pacific conference to be held in Honolulu in 1928, I find that people here are surely depending upon the coming of Jane Addams, although at your writing she seemed not definite about her engagements. Mrs. A. L. Andrews tells me that indications are hopeful for a most [worthwhile] gathering. I have just now telephoned the secretary of the Pan-Pacific Union who says that the Pan-Pacific Bulletin which will be issued in about a fortnight will give the latest information regarding the conference. Replies from big people in various parts of the world seem still to be tentative in most cases which I suppose is natural considering that we live in a world where time and space still count.
