Dear dear friend
What do you think of this idea? I enclose the Papers on Bunker Hill.
You will grieve as much as I do over the sad state of feeling that exists between England and America -- & I have thought that this [page 2] might be a visible hand shake, "a Hill of Reconciliation" but so far, in spite of a great deal of work here, & after showing the Hill to many Americans when in London we have received very little money, though a much appreciation.
I know you have lately gathered £2,600 for the Canon Barnett fellowship, so please dear one do not think that I am asking you to collect for Bunker Hill -- No I am [page 3] asking for your opinion, & a soon reply as to what you think.
Is it worth doing? Will it be a peace making action? Here in England I know that the Hill scheme wld have much influence for good, but people say they do not think it shd go be done unless the American show by gifts that they approve of it. [page 4] Mr Daniels of the English Sp. Union advised an American Comtee so I have written to the people on the enclosed list.
I await eagerly your prayerful opinion.
Yours ever fondly
Henrietta O Barnett
