My dear Miss Kane;
I was "flabbergasted" to find this article on Miss Hobhouse in the last number of Pax. I [had] spoken to [Madeleine] Doty of it of course and had told her that you had kindly consented to do it for us. Not hearing from you she probably concluded that you had given it up, or more likely that I was mistaken. At any rate here it is, with ↑the↓ material rather confused, it seems to me. If you will still kindly send your ↑article↓ material to me, I will either have it printed in a separate sheet, to be sent out with "Pax," or try to have it appear in another publication. ↑I will surely use it.↓
I am awfully sorry for contretemps but in the end we may get a better hearing for the article, and I am no end grateful for the pains you have taken with it.
↑P.S. Please give my cordial greetings to Mrs Cope.↓
