Dear Miss Addams,

So many years have passed since I had the [honor] of being introduced to you at Hull House that I cannot expect you to remember me. But the message I have to transmit needs no introduction, and formalities may be waived.

I happen to be staying at this old castle with the Earl and Countess of Fingall. She is the President of the United Irishwomen, an [organization] of social service among rural communities. On the 8th July, she tells me, the [program] of the W.I.L includes a visit to Tara and a Tea party here, under the auspices of the U.I. Lady Fingall and her Committee are, not unnaturally, keenly desirous of having the pleasure of entertaining you on the occasion. All I can say is that your doing so would immensely add to the interest of the event and in all probability act as an inspiration to those who are in very different circumstances trying to follow the example you have given to social workers throughout the world.

Yours sincerely

Horace Plunkett [signed]

P.S. Perhaps you would be kind enough to reply to Lady Fingall at the above address, as I have to go to England early next week.
