Message from the children of Geneva under the President of Board of Education Mr. André Oltramare broadcast on May 18th, 1926.
"To comrades of other countries,
On Peace Day of May 18th dedicated to good will the children of Geneva addressed to you a message of peace.
We do not know you but from the bottom of our hearts something urges us to love you. We have a horror of a new war, which would devastate the countries and bring again brutality and hate among us.
In all times when the fathers have taken up arms the first victim has been the child. We will not permit when we are large that they make mothers weep; we shall form a new people and we shall sing a [worldwide] song in sign of love among men.
How beautiful the world will be under the harvests of our great [civilized] family.
Tell us if our hopes are also yours so that thanks to us all the world will smile under universal peace which already rises like the sun at the horizon.
