Biographical Text

Sir Patrick Geddes was a Scottish professor of biology and city planner. He was educated in Edinburgh, London, and France. Geddes taught botany, physiology, zoology, natural history, sociology, and civics. While most of his career was in Scotland, he taught at the University of Bombay from 1919-1926. Geddes died in 1932.

He married Anna Morton in 1886. They had three children: Norah, Alasdair and Arthur.
