My dear Mrs Blaine;
You have given so liberally to each of our four congresses that I am turning almost instinctively to you as I am starting out on that most odious of occupations -- collecting money for an international cause. If you feel that you could repeat the $500. which you have always given, I should be most grateful. I am sending you various literature on the subject also a copy of my last list of special donors.
It is horrid to drive you so hard but last year you did allow me to put down your name for $500.00 on the Barnett Memorial Fund. It is now nearing completion and I should be very grateful for the check which should be turned in to the treasurer by May first. May I also [enclose] a little statement of that in case it has slipped your memory. We miss you very much in Chicago. We had a fine Housing Conference last week almost like the good old days of 1900.
