Miss Jane [Addams],
800 South [Halsted] Ave.,
Chicago, Ills.

Dear Miss [Addams]:

Early this week a meeting of the officers of our Association was held in Indianapolis.

President Daniels announced the action of our Organization Committee and of his appointing you a Vice-President, and we were all very much pleased to learn of your acceptance.

Miss [Addams], this is truly a work of love conducted altogether by volunteer service, and none of us can recollect of ever having been connected with any movement where there was such spontaneous and favorable [reaction].

President Daniels, in the very near future, will call a meeting of the Vice-Presidents, who will constitute the Executive Committee of our Association.

Assuring you of our gratification in having you associated with us, beg to remain

Yours very truly,

P. H. Callahan [signed]
Patrick Henry Callahan.
