My dear Mr. MacDonald,
We hear that you are to be lecturing in America next fall and you can well imagine how many people in Chicago are hoping to hear you.
Mrs. Laird, who is in charge of the League of Women Voters Forum, a very well managed organization, has been most active in her efforts to secure you. She has asked me to write you in her behalf and it gives me great pleasure to testify that the organization is a worthy one and that you would find an intelligent audience.
I need not tell you the great pleasure it would give to many friends in Chicago to hear you and how pleased we should be if you could be our guest at Hull-House sometime during your stay in the United States. We so much enjoyed having your son here for even a few hours.
Faithfully yours,
