My dear Mrs. Elliott:

Thank you for the letter from Miss Addams. I return it with this note.

As you know, I was not at the last meeting of the committee and do not know what was done.

At each meeting there is some military person who must be reassured about the purpose of the celebration. It delays progress, but is highly useful, for explanations always seem to quiet the nerves of the doubtful.

I hope you are feeling rested by now.

Sincerely yours,

Grace A. Johnson [signed]
