Dr Owensby:

Sections and microscopic examination of the breast tissue shows a condition that I consider chronic interstitial fibrous mastitis. The condition is diffuse, affecting all of the glandular non-fatty portions of the tissue. There is diffuse interstitial infiltration with lymphocytes, and considerable fibrosis, also diffuse. There is some irritational change in the glandular epithelium, but I am unable to find the usual signs of malignancy.

This condition occasionally undergoes malignant transformation and from the histology I believe the possibilities of such change are present in the tissue. However, I do not believe that it is malignant in its present status.
