WOMEN’S INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM
Hull-House, Chicago
My dear Miss Surles:
I discovered quite by accident that the secretary of the Chicago Branch (of all the Branches in the world) has been sending the fees of the International members to Geneva.
1923 April to December |
$125.00 |
1924 January to December |
395.00 |
1925 January to April |
230.00 |
|
$750.00 |
Of course, at least one-half or doubtless more of 1924 belonged to our fund here, but I felt that I could not go back to that as the books have probably already been audited but I did take out of what I sent here $145.00 from the March check and $95.00 from the May check, keeping back therefore all of the Chicago dues paid in 1925. I have asked ↑Miss Glücklich↓ her to send me a list of the names and addresses of these people, and the Chicago Treasurer will also supply a list so I think we can get it straightened out. Mrs. Meyer, the Chicago Treasurer says that no one ever told her of the change in Chicago and while she feels badly over the blunder I suppose we cannot hold her responsible. At any rate, here we are and we will have to do the best we can until we get it all straightened out.
