2709 Prairie Avenue.

My dear Miss Addams

We feel very grateful to you for remembering us with an autograph copy of "Twenty Years at Hull House" and especially so for the autobiographical notes which answer so [page 2] many questions. I would like to put that chapter entitled the "Snare of Preparation" with the hands of every debutante.

If one rebels against the terrible conditions set forth with such [true] simplicity, one cannot help being thankful for the gift to the [page 3] world of this delicate, sensitive yet powerful spirit.

Wishing you [illegible] a greater measure of success than you have already achieved, believe me

cordially yours

Frances K. Hutchinson
