Miss Jane Addams:
Hull House, Chicago Ill.

My dear Miss Addams.

The enclosed copy of a letter to Natl. Secretary Miss Amy Woods, for your perusal.

Am sending it to you, surmising, that [often?] -- you would be the active factor in extending an official invitation to Dr. Juan B. Justo and wife of Buenos-Aires, Argentina.

Besides being a diputado al Congreso [Nacional] and an internationally well known figure Dr. [Justo] also holds the chair for medicine & surgery at the University of Bs As and is the most sought [surgeon] in that city. He is also the founder, editor & [manager?] (financially) of a large daily newspaper, the "Vanguard."

I do think that Dr. Justo's presence at the congress in Washington in May would be highly beneficial and helpful, not only to the assembled body of [international] delegates -- but also in adding to strengthen with [our] ideas and ideals the pan American relations. [page 2]

Last but not least, it would also be a great honor and help to the "Women's Internatl. League ↑for↓ Peace & [Freedom"] if it were possible to procure Dr. Justo's Cooperation in our great Work not only [through] his paper [which] has many millions circulation -- but his activities [in?] a continual mention in all of South American newspapers -- even on the west coast.

I trust the matter in your hands.

Yours very sincerely

Mrs. Emily S. Raven
