Dearest Miss Addams --

Let me be among the first of your many friends the world over to rejoice with you over the success of your operation. I called up Hull House this afternoon for the latest news. The report was very assuring. It is needless to tell you [page 2] how keenly I feel for you. My most earnest prayers and my heartiest good wishes are with you for a speedy and permanent recovery. God bless you, dear Miss Addams, for what you are, and for what you have done.
