My dear Miss Addams: --
I have a very earnest request to make of you. I think you know that the Young Women's Christian Association as a whole is keenly interested in the whole problem of Peace.
We here in Omaha are anxious to make the program for our Annual Meeting, the 24th of January, center around the subject of Peace, -- perhaps some such subject as "Peace through Goodwill." Would it be possible for you to bring us the great message which we know you have in your heart, on this occasion?
Our Annual Meeting has always taken the form of a Membership Banquet at which we would have probably two hundred and fifty people seated; then there is room in the balcony for one hundred and fifty or two hundred more. This would be quite a representative audience ranging from school girls to women in homes and some men.
I do not believe you have been in Omaha, at least since I came here over four years ago, and we would consider it a very great honor and pleasure to welcome you to our city and to our Association. May we please hear from you at your earliest convenience as plans must be made within the next week or ten days.
If possible for you to come, will you please advise us ↑as↓ to the financial arrangements for such a visit.
Thanking you and with good wishes for the new year, I am,
Most cordially yours,
Carrie Ada Campbell [signed]
