My dear Mr [Robins]

I am very glad to have had the [enclosed] and to know of your [sister].

I certainly wasn't annoyed when you told me of her reading of my book -- but embarrassed. Any reference to that unhappy volume seems to throw me into a state approaching a childish panic.

I will refrain from mentioning the secretaryship at the Thursday meeting, but I don't understand [page 2] the delay.

Thanking you for your letter I am faithfully yours

Jane Addams
