Dearest Lady

As always I came away from N.Y. feeling deeply grateful to you for a thousand kindnesses.

We had a very easy journey back and every one said that Mary looked much better. A series of cables has come and at last the time and place are settled -- Berne, Switzerland May 5th. I am going to Washington [page 2] [next] week and will at least settle my fate.

I am sending a letter from Mrs Rickman which may interest you and am always & forever devotedly yours Jane Addams
