CHICAGO.

My dear Miss Wald

We haven't heard from you yet in regard to a nurse for us here. Shall we conclude that you have no one and proceed to engage a Miss De Best who has presented herself and is very acceptable to us all!

I do hope that you are planning a visit to Chicago [this] winter and may be here [page 2] at the opening of our new Boys Club.

With love to the household I am always yours J.A.

P.S.

Will you please write me exactly how much Isadore [Friedman] owes you? We are much mortified over his reprehensible conduct. He has always been terribly conceited and difficult, but we have held on to him largely on that account and because of his real [page 3] enthusiasm for the shop work. He understands that he is to pay you first of all. I am mortified that he should have bothered you so much.
