Dear Miss Addams
I have been making a visit of a literary nature from Harper and Brother and do not want to leave the city without meeting you. I learn that you will return on Friday morning, so I have deferred my departure until the [page 2] noon train of that day for Indianapolis.
I hope to call about eleven o'clock, and trust you will be able to spare me a little time for a talk. I should regret very much if on my first visit to Chicago I failed to meet you after so many years interest in your work.
Sincerely yours
James MacArthur
