Dear Miss [Addams]
I have always taken a very deep interest in the [welfare] of the [schools] and this is my excuse for this note to you asking that you will use the great influence you [possess] with those who are endeavoring to bring about an affiliation with organized labor. While I sympathize with such organizations I think it a most disastrous move and one subversive of all that should be accomplished for the cause of education. In my experience as a Member of the Board of Education, I feel certain of my position and it is with great regret that I have observed this movement well calculated to bring trouble to all concerned.
Yours Truly E. G. Keith
