Miss Jane Addams,
C/O Miss [Mary] Rozet Smith,
12 West Walton St., Chicago.

My dear Miss Addams,

I am reading with pleasure the "Long Road of Woman's Memory" which you were kind enough to send me a few days ago. I like it very much. It is unusual and a beautiful interpretation of the things that are so near and common that their importance as factors in human happiness are usually overlooked. While, as you know, your books have always interested me, the charm of this last book to my mind far exceeds the others.

With best wishes for your health and happiness and repeating my thanks for the pleasure which your book has given me, I am

Sincerely yours,

Gertrude Howe Britton [signed]
