My dear Mr. Dundas:
In Miss Addams’ illness may I reply to your letter of recent date, and say that we appreciate greatly your suggestion of [cooperating] with the peace movement.
We sent you some time ago a signed Resolution to President Wilson urging a conference of neutral nations and expressing the desire of those who signed it to have universal peace. I am inclined to believe that this is all we can do. I believe that the continued knocking on the door may make some impression, but to what extent, we are unable to say.
If there is any further way in which this office can serve you, please let us know.
Sincerely yours,
Assistant Secretary.
Mr. J. H. Dundas,
Auburn, Nebraska.
