Biographical Text

Frank Crane was a Presbyterian minister who was a widely-read writer of daily editorials in newspapers. Crane wrote for the Associated Newspapers and his columns were syndicated across the country. Crane served several parishes as a pastor until 1909 when he resigned to take up writing full time. He wrote under the name Leigh Reilley for the Chicago Evening Post and the Ladies Home Journal. He also authored a number of books on religious topics and War and World Government (1915).

He married Ellie C. Stickel in 1882. They had two children, James and Mrs. Alfred E. Drake.
