Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Grey --
Northumberland.

My dear Sir Edward --

The Committee from the International Council of Women whom you so kindly received a month ago, has since seen members of the ministry in the belligerent countries, in Germany Bethmann-Hollweg and Count von Jagow; in Austria Baron Burián and Count Stürgkh; in Budapest Count Tisza; in Berne President [Motta] and Dr. Hoffmann; in Rome Dr. Salandra and Baron Sonnino and also the Pope [page 2] and his Secretary of State, Cardinal Gasparri; in Paris Mr. Delcassé and M. Viviani and in Havre Mr Davignon.

Some of these interviews have been quite significant. It would give me much pleasure to give you a confidential account of our impressions some day next week if you are to be in London, if not, I might come to Northumberland as we sail from Liverpool next Saturday.

I see President Wilson immediately upon my return to the United States and am anxious for all possible light. [page 3]

I am [sending] this note in an envelope [addressed] for me by Lady Courtney of [Penwith].

Sincerely yours

Jane Addams
