My dear Alice

Your first letter was directed to Cedarville and did not reach me until after the second one.  Miss Jenson called on Sat but not the others.  I did not discover your handkerchief until after the letter came.  I am much impressed with its making and prize it very much.  I am not quite satisfied with your reasons for not coming.  You disappointed two households very deeply—however we will have to call it postponed until summer.  With all good New Years wishes I am your loving sister J.A.
