My dear Alice

I have just sent off of box of baby things to Esther. I am quite sure that she would like the cap or anything else you would care to make her. It is not a question of "seeing things in a city" but of buying them and they have very little to start with.

I am very grateful for Marcet's picture, it makes me realize  that I haven't seen her for a long time, she looks so grown up. [page 2]

Miss Ware came this morning, there is almost nothing going on save building and repairs but we will do the best we can for her. With love to Marcet and yourself. Always your loving sister
