Description

Papers of William Lighty, a pioneer in the field of adult education who was on the administrative staff of the Extension Division of the University of Wisconsin from 1906 to 1937 and exerted a marked influence on its development. The bulk of the collection derives from the period between 1910 and 1930 and is composed of Lighty's personal, business, and professional correspondence; his articles and speeches; and records of the Extension Division.
