HULL-HOUSE.
335 SOUTH HALSTED STREET.
CHICAGO.

My dear Mr Gilder

The little book of Lincoln I knew very well but splendidly forgot that you had edited it. I need not say that I shall prize more than before -- which means a great deal.

The Boston letter I did not [recall] but I take an "solemn pride" in knowing it now. The poems I have read with the [page 2] pleasant appreciation, it gives me new courage in the quest for the "moral substitute for war" to know such writing

Thanking you for the books and your letter and hoping that I may some time have the pleasure of seeing you at Hull-House I am faithfully yours

Jane Addams
