Miss Jane Addams

Dear Miss Addams:

This is the time of year for us to send out "follow-up" letters to the list circularized in November, asking for $10 [cooperative] subscriptions. You will remember that last year you and Mr. Riis and Mr. Devine jointly signed a letter of appeal. Facsimile signatures were of discourse used. Would you be willing to let us send out a similar letter this year?

I am enclosing a rough draft, and should of course be glad to have you edit or criticize it in any way to make it more acceptable or effective. I am also enclosing a copy of the first letter sent to this same list of people in November last.

These letters should go to the multigraphers early next week, if possible, so if you will send me word about it in an early mail, I shall be mighty glad.

Sincerely,

Paul U Kellogg [signed]
